The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority extends our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Justin Ehrenwerth, who led The Water Institute as President and CEO for the past seven years.

Justin embodied what it means to be a coastal champion, not just for Louisiana but for the entire Gulf Coast, dedicating much of his life and career to fighting for us in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. More than that, Justin was a loving husband and father, and we are grateful for his friendship and visionary leadership over the years.

Justin’s death is a tremendous loss for Louisiana, and our hearts are with our friends and neighbors at The Water Institute during this difficult time. May Justin’s legacy and wish for a stronger, more resilient coast live on through the hard work of his colleagues and other devoted coastal advocates.
