BATON ROUGE, LA – Today, the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) released a draft version of the agency’s annual spending plan for Fiscal Year 2025, which runs from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. The plan is the largest single-year investment in Louisiana’s coast to date, with $1.68 billion allotted to the design, engineering, and construction of 121 projects, and ongoing operation, maintenance, and monitoring of an additional 190 completed projects across coastal Louisiana.
Highlights of the FY 2025 Plan:

  • Nearly 90% of funds are dedicated to the construction, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of CPRA’s projects.
  • Of the 121 total active projects, 16 are in the Southwest Region, 39 are in the South Central Region, and 66 are in the Southeast Region.
  • 17 dredging projects are slated for construction, which will utilize more than 63.8 million cubic yards of sediment to create almost 12,000 acres of new land.
  • This is the first annual plan to be guided by the newly adopted 2023 Coastal Master Plan, CPRA’s most innovative, comprehensive plan yet.
