Completion of the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge Modification project was celebrated today
with a ribbon cutting on Bayou Lafourche at Donaldsonville in Ascension Parish. A key
element of the $31 million Mississippi River Reintroduction into Bayou Lafourche projects
funded through CPRA and Assumption Parish, and administered by the United States
Department of the Interior, this project has made significant progress toward accomplishing
the larger Bayou Lafourche Diversion Master Plan Project.
