BATON ROUGE, LA – Following his appointment by Gov. Jeff Landry on January 31, Glenn Ledet Jr. began his role as the new executive director of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) today.

Prior to accepting his new role with CPRA, Ledet served as Vice President and Water Resources Market Sector Leader for Neel-Schaffer Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering, planning and construction management firm. In his role with the firm, Ledet was responsible for driving regional and corporate business growth and overseeing the implementation of coastal and water resources projects.

“With his experience in engineering and project management and business development, I believe that he has the ability to focus CPRA in working with the new board in making sure that the projects start, and they’re finished, and they go under budget,” said Landry.

“I am honored to have been selected by Governor Landry to return to CPRA as executive director and help guide the coastal program forward,” said Ledet. “Louisiana’s coast is indispensable, and with the support of his administration, I am committed to building upon the excellent progress CPRA has made safeguarding coastal communities and revitalizing our treasured wetlands.”

Ledet holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University and, in addition to his work with Neel-Schaffer, has over 15 years of experience working for various consulting firms and spent three years as the Assistant Administrator of CPRA’s Operations Division.
