Long-awaited tidal levee construction in lower Jefferson Parish is moving forward. Officials broke ground on phase two of the Fisher School Basin Flood Risk Reduction Project. The $11.2 million tidal levee will tie into existing back levees to act as a flood wall along Bayou Barataria.
