School Tours

*Due to ongoing construction limiting the availability of parking, only groups arriving by bus for pick up and drop off can be accommodated for tours*

**We ask parent chaperones joining any school tours to refrain from driving individual vehicles to the Center due to the lack of parking.  If parents drive to the Center, they will need to abide by the parking map below.  The designated parking area by the river and is quite a walk to the Center, across a railroad track.  There isn’t parking near the Center due to extensive construction.**

  • Tours last one hour.
  • The Center targets grades 4 – 12
  • We request one chaperone per 10 students age 17 and under.
  • Admission to the Center is free of charge.
  • There is no food or drink allowed in the Center for River Studies.
  • There is no parking onsite due to street construction at this time. Buses may drop off visitors at designated loading zones. Parking offsite for buses is available.  See map below for more details.

CPRA is pleased to introduce a PowerPoint presentation we call Coastal 101.   The Coastal 101 serves as a primer in advance of a visit to the LSU Center for River Studies and comes with notes to assist you in providing an overview to your classroom of Louisiana’s coastal land loss and the plan to protect and restore it.
