The CPRA is proud to sponsor the 4-H Youth Wetlands Program, a statewide education program that heightens students’ awareness of Louisiana’s wetlands and the coastal crisis we face.
The program provides structured lesson plans and educational materials at no cost to educators. Lessons are implemented throughout the school year and culminate with Wetlands Week.
This year, more than 173,000 students in 1,710 classrooms will participate.
2014 Poetry Contest
As part of Wetlands Week, the CPRA and 4-H Youth Wetlands Program sponsored a poetry contest for students. This year’s theme was: “Louisiana’s Coast: What does it mean to you?”
Thank you to the more than 400 students from around the state who took the time to craft wonderful, heartfelt poems, and congratulations to this year’s winners. Winning poems will be featured in the FY2016 Annual Plan, which will be published in early 2015.
