The importance to the rest of the United States of Louisiana’s proposed 2017 master plan for coastal restoration and hurricane storm surge protection will be the topic of a Thursday (Feb. 16) summit keynoted by Gov. John Bel Edwards on the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge. The summit, which begins at 9 a.m. at the Lod Cook Alumni Center, 3848 W. Lakeshore Drive, also is expected to attract former U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu and former Gov. Kathleen Blanco, as well as a number of state and federal officials involved in coastal restoration, coastal scientists, environmentalists and industry leaders.
