Gulf Coast landowners, farmers can tap $40M in conservation cash from BP oil spill

October 28, 2014

United States Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a new partnership between USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation that will provide $40 million in investments to conservation programs at press briefing by the lakeshore in Norco, Louisiana on Tuesday, October 29, 2014. The new partnership furthers restoration efforts in the Gulf of Mexico by extending conservation efforts to private landowners and operators who might not otherwise be eligible to participate in existing recovery programs following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas.
