The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana (CPRA) will conduct a final design (95%) meeting for the Biloxi Marsh Shoreline Protection Project (PO-72) on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, beginning at 9 a.m. in the 11th Floor Conference Room of the Chase Building, North Tower located at 450 Laurel Street in Baton Rouge.

The Biloxi Marsh Shoreline Protection Project proposes a rock breakwater design to stabilize up to 7 miles of shoreline along Lake Borgne from Jahncke’s Ditch to Bayou Grande to combat erosion, protect wildlife habitat within the Biloxi Marsh complex, and help maintain the marsh as a protective barrier to the City of New Orleans and the surrounding area against surge and waves during tropical events.

Please email comments regarding the project to CPRA Project Manager Tim Harper (timothy.harper@la.gov) no later than 15 days following the November 1 design meeting.

For additional information about the CPRA or this scheduled meeting, please call CPRA Public Information Director Chuck Perrodin at (225) 342-7615 or email chuck.perrodin2@la.gov.
